John Carlson est Anishinaabe et membre de la bande indienne de Red Rock. Il a travaill\u00e9 sur les questions de l’autod\u00e9termination des autochtones, des conflits li\u00e9s \u00e0 l’utilisation des terres et de la revitalisation culturelle. Il a men\u00e9 des recherches sur l’\u00e9conomie et la politique du pi\u00e9geage dans le nord de l’Ontario ainsi que sur l’importance du manoomin pour les communaut\u00e9s anishinaabe. Son expertise en mati\u00e8re de recherche se situe dans le domaine de l’\u00e9conomie politique, de l’utilisation des terres, du d\u00e9veloppement communautaire et de l’histoire \u00e9conomique. Sa passion est de comprendre et de d\u00e9terminer la multiplicit\u00e9 des facteurs qui affectent l’autonomisation des communaut\u00e9s Anishinaabe. Son article \u00ab\u00a0Manoomin is not Wild Rice : An Anishinaabeg Treaty\u00a0\u00bb est paru dans Zeitschrift f\u00fcr Kanada-Studien, la revue de l’Association pour les \u00e9tudes canadiennes dans les pays germanophones. Il enseigne les \u00e9tudes indig\u00e8nes et canadiennes \u00e0 Carleton. Il parle couramment l’anglais, le fran\u00e7ais et l’allemand.<\/span><\/p>
