Hope Metallic, BA is Mi’kmaq from Listuguj First Nation and holds a BA with a double major in Criminology and Native Studies (St. Thomas University). Hope is passionate about advocating for indigenous communities and especially for Indigenous women. Hope has many years’ experience supporting Mi’kmaq communities throughout New Brunswick through her work at Wolastoqiyik family services, Mi’kmaw Kinamatnewey, and Listuguj Youth Center. She has managed projects related to Treaty education, alternative housing for indigenous youth, and Family services to First Nations families across New Brunswick. With her years of experience within Indigenous communities, Hope understands what it takes to build an effective a professional relationship with colleagues, clientele, and the general public service. Hope resides in New Brunswick and is an active member of the rugby community, playing for the provincial women’s team and a coach for Indigenous youth rugby.
