Sonja is a Mi’kmaq woman from Eel River Bar First Nation, a mother of three, and a respected practitioner of traditional medicines. She brings a diverse skill set to her role as an Elder Advisor, excelling in conflict resolution, mediation, human relations, and team building.
Known for her nurturing nature and proactive approach, Sonja is committed to continuous learning, particularly in the areas of traditional medicinal teachings and botany.
Currently residing in her home community of ERB, Sonja works closely with her band to implement and improve governance practices. Her work reflects a deep commitment to community well-being and cultural preservation.
