Hosai is a Ph.D. candidate at the Institute of Feminist and Gender Studies, University of Ottawa. Her doctoral research examines the role of television in representing gender relations in post-conflict Afghanistan and challenges gender role representations in Afghan media.
With over eight years of experience designing and implementing developmental projects in Afghanistan, Hosai brings valuable insights to her work on women’s empowerment, media, immigration, resettlement, and reintegration.
Hosai has conducted research on developmental and academic projects in both Canada and Afghanistan. Her areas of expertise include Gender-based Analysis Plus (GBA+), international development, and immigrant and refugee communities. She is actively involved in Afghan refugee resettlement organizations in Canada.
