Pitsulala (she/her) is an Inuk woman originally from Iqaluit, Nunavut, descended from a lineage of resilient Inuit women who thrived off the land. Fluent in both spoken and written English and Inuktitut, she represents the first generation relocated to settlements, preceding her parents’ forced displacement from their traditional way of life in the early 1900s.

With over two decades of experience working for Indigenous and non-Indigenous NGOs, private companies, and local and federal governments, Pitsulala has amassed extensive knowledge through her professional work and personal lived experiences.

Her career has spanned front-line services and numerous research projects, particularly representing Inuit organizations at local, territorial, and national levels. Her work has focused on health, social issues, justice, and human rights, among other areas of interest. Pitsulala brings a deep understanding of northern and urban issues related to social determinants of health for Inuit.
